From the selective breeding of silkworms that causes them disabilities; to crushing female moths in a mixer if found diseased; to storing male moths in a refrigerator to be taken out to mate again and again; to using fire to force silkworms out of the cocoon; the process of “ahimsa” silk production is no less cruel.
